Pottery Class Schedule
Pottery classes run Monday to Friday both in the daytime and evenings. The majority of classes are wheel throwing with the exception of our popular Friday evening Hand building class. We cater for complete beginners to experienced potters. One off workshops happen from time to time on weekends or in the school holidays.
Spaces are limited
Please sign up to our mailing list to receive enrolment notifications and class information 3 weeks prior to the start of a new term. Classes often fill up quickly, so being on the newsletter list is important so you know when class registrations open.
Wheel Taster Sessions
The first Sunday of every month there is a Wheel taster session for you to try your hand at wheel throwing and play with clay. It is conducted in the spirit of experimentation and learning and nothing is fired from this session. It is designed for people to have a go before they attempt a 10-week class.
We follow the NZ school term. Our terms are usually 10 weeks long. See class listings above for details of current classes.
Experience Levels
-
Beginners - For those who have never been on a wheel before.
-
Intermediate - For those who have completed six or more terms at Ata or equivalent.
-
Mixed Ability - Ranges from beginner to more experienced with a number of terms experience.
CLASSES
“The best! La creme de la creme. I took a few pottery classes over the last years with different places but none of them equal the quality and amazingness I got from Ata Ceramics. I love this course so much, great teacher, super extensive and helpful content and the group energy is fantastic”
Sandrine
“Absolutely the coolest course with a great bunch of likeminded earth loving people all being creative in such a beautiful space. I found it a brilliant eye opener for the uninitiated and Sam was amazing at guiding and pointing everyone in the right direction and making it such an enjoyable experience. Definitely recommend it for anyone and everyone…I love Ata!”
